The race for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title has heated up heading into the last five matches of the season. League leaders Bibiani Gold Stars suffered a shocking setback over the weekend when the team lost 2-0 to newcomers Vision FC.Despite the defeat, Gold Stars maintained a slim margin at the top of the league table.The team currently has 53 points, just two points ahead of Nations FC, the team in second place.Heart of Lions and Asante Kotoko in third and fourth place respectively are tied on 50 points but separated on points difference.Defending champions FC Samartex and giants Hearts of Oak follow in fifth and sixth positions with 45 points each.Accra Lions after an impressive 2-0 victory over Bechem United have climbed out of the relegation zone, leaving Karela United and Legon Cities FC in the danger zone.In the remaining matches of the league season, eyes will be on not just the race for the league title but on the relegation battle between the four bottom clubs.Check out the league standings heading into Week 30 of the Ghana Premier League next weekend.
