Accra Lions will be making a return to the Accra Sports Stadium for the first time September 2024 for the matchday 27 of the Ghana Premier League against Basake Holy Stars.The Accra-based club will be hoping to return to winning ways as the battle for survival continues following a torrid campaign, which has seen the club play most of their home games at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium and the WAFA Park in Sogakope.Lions’ home record has not been the best this season and that can largely be attributed to the absence of the Accra Sports Stadium, which has for the past few seasons being a fortress for the young club.The hosts head into Saturday’s game with a record of two wins and two defeats in their last five matches while Basake Holy Stars have lost three in that same period.Holy Stars are, however, seven points away from the drop zone.Accra Lions desperately need a win at home to boost their survival chances and will count on the experience of defender Musa Hamzata and captain Ibrahim Issa.Meanwhile, Holy Stars will be led on the pitch by former Kotoko player Ampem Dacosta alongside the experienced Prince Tweneboah.The game will be the second meeting between the two team in the top division with Basake Holy Stars winning the reverse fixture in Anyinase 2-1.
