Ahead of Sunday’s highly anticipated 2025 President’s Cup clash between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has promised a generous cash incentive to motivate the Phobians.
She visited the team during a morale-boosting session at the team’s training camp on Friday and was accompanied by the Mayor of Accra, Michael Kpakpo Allotey, and a delegation of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

The Regional minister announced that players would receive $1,500 and £400 per goal scored on match day.
In addition, the delegation donated GH₵20,000 to the team to further support their preparations.

“We believe in you and we are counting on you to make the Greater Accra Region proud,” the Regional Minister said.
“Security-wise, we are fully prepared. The entire security apparatus will be deployed to ensure a peaceful, well-organised, and enjoyable match for all fans.”
The Mayor of Accra added a personal touch, calling the match “dear to our hearts,” and vowing not to eat before kick-off. In a symbolic show of solidarity, he pledged to wear the iconic number 10 jersey on Sunday.

The President’s Cup is an annual fixture that honours the sitting President of Ghana. It remains one of the biggest domestic matches on the Ghanaian football calendar, with national pride, bragging rights, and intense rivalry between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
