Ghana head coach Desmond Ofei has named his starting lineup for the crucial U20 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal against hosts Egypt, with forward Jerry Afriyie returning to the XI.
The match, set for 5:00 GMT at the Suez Stadium, offers both teams a chance to secure a semifinal spot and qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Afriyie, a key attacking option, is back in the lineup after missing the previous game.
Team captain Ofori McCarthy also returns to organize the defense, bringing his leadership and experience to the back line.
Emmanuel Mensah and Phenyin-Denis Marfo have also been recalled, adding stability to the midfield and defense.
Midfielder Hayford Boahen earns his first start of the tournament, rewarded for his impressive form in training and solid performances off the bench.
With these changes, Ofei is clearly looking to balance youth and experience as Ghana aims to extend its impressive tournament run.
The Black Satellites topped Group C, drawing 1-1 with DR Congo before recording back-to-back 1-0 wins over Senegal and the Central African Republic.
With a World Cup ticket on the line, Ofeis side will be determined to overcome the hosts and keep their title hopes alive.
