2026 Grammy Awards winners list: Bad Bunny takes on ICE, Kendrick Lamar makes history – National

Kendrick Lamar made history as the most-awarded hip-hop artist in Grammys history at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

The Not Like Us rapper took home the award for best rap album for GNX, bringing his total to 27. He surpassed the previous record held by Jay-Z, who has won 25 Grammys.

“Hip-hop is gonna always be right here. We’re gonna be in these suits, we’re gonna be looking good, we’re gonna be having our folks with us, we’re gonna be having our culture with us,” Lamar said while accepting his fourth Grammy of the night.

The TV Off rapper has 27 Grammy career wins of 66 nominations in total.

Lamar already won three Grammys for best rap song, best rap performance and best melodic rap performance during the premiere ceremony, a pre-telecast show held at the adjacent Peacock Theater.

One of the more awkward moments of the night took place when Cher came onstage to announce the award for record of the year. When presenting the award, she announced that the winner was Luther Vandross, who died in 2005.

The actual winner was Lamar and SZA for their song Luther, built on a sample of Vandross and Cheryl Lynn’s 1982 duet If This World Were Mine.

“This is what this music is about: Luther Vandross. This is special for me because, he is one of my favorite artists of all time,” Lamar said as he accepted the award.

“Please don’t fall into despair. I know that right now is a scary time. I know the algorithms tell us that it’s so scary and all is lost,” SZA added.

Bad Bunny’s Debí Tirar Más Fotos is only the second time an all-Spanish language album has been nominated for the top prize. This comes three years after Bad Bunny’s release, Un Verano Sin Ti, became the first Spanish-language album to earn a nomination in the album of the year category.

The Puerto Rican superstar was up for six awards, becoming the first Spanish-language artist to be nominated for album, song and record of the year simultaneously.

He took home the Grammy for best global music performance, best música urbana album and the big prize of the night — album of the year — for Debí Tirar Más Fotos.

Bad Bunny, headlining the Super Bowl halftime show next weekend, said “ICE out” while accepting the award for best música urbana album.

“Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say, ‘ICE out,’” he began his speech. “We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens, we are humans and we are Americans.”

“The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love,” he continued. “We need to be different. We fight. We have to do it with love. We love our people, we love our family, and that’s the way to do it, with love. Don’t forget that.”

Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas wore “ICE Out” pins as they accepted the award for song of the year.

“No one is illegal on stolen land,” Eilish said in her acceptance speech.

“It’s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now. And I just I feel really hopeful in this room and I feel like we just need to keep praying and speaking up and protesting. And our voices really do matter and the people matter,” she said, before adding “f–k ICE.”
