Call us

It was a moment of pride and celebration on October 10, as 824 new lawyers were officially called to the bar as barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of Ghana.

Among the fresh batch of legal practitioners were several familiar faces from Ghana’s media, entertainment, and business industries.

Prominent TV3 legal and political analyst, Joseph Ackah-Blay, was one of the personalities who achieved this milestone. With over a decade of experience as a legal and political analyst and a respected voice in Ghana’s media landscape, Ackah-Blay’s call to the bar marks yet another highlight in his illustrious career.

Also joining the distinguished list was Serwaa Amihere, celebrated GHOne TV anchor, brand ambassador, and entrepreneur. The award-winning broadcaster, known for her intelligence and poise on screen, adds “lawyer” to her list of accomplishments—an achievement that has inspired many of her fans and followers across the country.

Another notable inductee was Richmond Amofa Sarpong, the manager of actress and businesswoman Fella Makafui and CEO of Crossmark Marketing and UMBGTA Talent. His addition to the bar underscores the growing trend of media and creative industry professionals diversifying into law and other professional fields.

Another is Ferozar Dzamefe, wife of Anthony Dzamefe, the founder and CEO of Caveman Watches. Her accomplishment drew admiration from many in the business community, as she continues to build her own professional identity alongside her husband’s entrepreneurial success story.

This year’s call to the bar ceremony, organized by the General Legal Council, celebrated not just academic excellence but also resilience, passion, and determination. The presence of such diverse personalities among the newly minted lawyers highlights the evolving face of Ghana’s legal profession—one that continues to attract talents from various sectors of society.

Congratulations to all 824 new lawyers, especially the public figures whose achievements continue to inspire young Ghanaians to pursue excellence across multiple fields.
