The 8th edition of the Ofie Kwanso ( Jumapo Home Coming) has successfully been launched with the call on all Jumapo citizens across the country and the diaspora to visit home every year as part of the effort to learn more about their rich heritage and the culture of the community.
The Home Coming under the theme, ” Building A Sustainable Environment To Influence Future Generation will create a platform for community members to deliberate, discuss and share ideas about the socio-economic growth and development of the community
Line up of activities to celebrate the occasion includes clean up exercise, banku party, exhibition and trade fair, soccer, fun games, float, street carnival, party in the park, fore fathers games, bonfire and climax with thanks giving service.
The event instituted in 2016 have attracted over 3,000 people through previous celebrations and have enhance as well as strengthen their cordial relationship between
the town and its environs including adjourning communities within the New Juabeng district in the Eastern Region
The Ghana National Eggs Campaign Secretariat(GNECS) will play a pivotal role in collaboration with the members of the planning committee in the month long program following the success and the positive impact of the homecoming on the citizens of Jumapo.
According to the Committee, the celebration will also be a mile stone on the calendar of the Ofie Kwanso and will attract investors, tourists, holiday makers, trading and business activities in the Eastern Region in employment generation for the youth.
The People of Jumapo have celebrated personalities in the community and notably among them are Dr. Comfort Acheampong (GNECS Coordinator) , Koo Ntakra ( MTN Hitmaker), Yaw Dabo ( Kumawood Actor ) and Naomi Abena Obeng ( Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2018 winner).
