Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A-Plus, has issued an official statement to clarify a recent misunderstanding involving a fake social media account and his remarks toward Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine.

‎In a public statement, A-Plus said he has never accused the Attorney General of being corrupt or a thief. He explained that a fake Twitter (X) account, which uses his name and photo, made false statements about the Attorney General. “The account is not mine,” A-Plus said. “Even though it has my name and a verification badge, I have no control over it.”

‎He added that his real comments about a sanitation levy can be found on his verified Facebook page. He encouraged the public to refer to that page for the true version of events.

‎The MP also addressed accusations linking him to a scandal involving the National Service Secretariat (NSS). He denied any involvement, saying he has never received money from the NSS or done business with them.

‎A-Plus admitted that he once helped a man accused in the case get media attention to tell his side of the story. “I believe everyone deserves to be heard,” he said, noting that he has supported others in the past who were later cleared of wrongdoing.

‎Regarding his own Facebook post responding to Dr. Ayine’s press conference, A-Plus said he wrote it himself and now regrets the tone he used. “I apologize to Dr. Ayine, the public, the NDC party, and Parliament,” he said. “I take full responsibility and have deleted the post.”
