Greater Accra Hockey Association (GAHA) has re-elected Adolph Tetteh Adjei as Chairman for another four-year term following elections held in Accra on February 21.

Mr Adjei will head a five-member executive board under the renewed mandate. In his victory speech, he pledged to prioritize members’ concerns to promote unity, harmony and progress within the association, which organizes the flagship Sapholda Hockey League.

He acknowledged dissatisfaction among some members prior to the polls and assured stakeholders that the new administration would address grievances from the previous term. He also stressed the need to attract additional corporate sponsorship to strengthen the league and other competitions.

While noting the long-standing support from Sapholda, his company, Mr Adjei said more partners were required to boost resources and expand the sport’s reach.

In other results, Vice Chairman Derrick Tamakloe was retained after polling 24 votes to defeat challenger Romeo Bulley, who secured 15. General Secretary Isaac Graham and Treasurer Benjamin Baiden were both returned unopposed.

Robert Attiso Ayitey was elected as executive member, defeating incumbent Bright Ohene Okyere by 28 votes to 11 to complete the five-member board.
