The Africa News Agency (ANA) has relocated its global headquarters to Accra, Ghana following the opening of its 11th office, marking a significant milestone in its Pan-African expansion drive.
The announcement was contained in a press release issued and signed by Ms Dounia Ben Mohamed, Chief Executive Officer of ANA on Wednesday, as the agency dedicated a special Ghana-focused edition of its digital bilingual quarterly magazine, ANAMag, to the occasion.
The move shifts ANA’s headquarters from Paris and Kigali to Ghana’s capital, Accra, a decision the agency described as strategic and symbolic of Africa’s transformation.
The statement said “Some cities vibrate. And then there are cities that move forward. Accra is one of those that move forward,”
It explained that establishing the new headquarters in Accra was more than a geographic decision, adding that it underscored the agency’s commitment to being closer to decision-makers, entrepreneurs, institutions, creators and emerging talents shaping the continent.
According to the release, Ghana represents a stable and innovation-driven economy, with a dynamic youth population, vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and influential diaspora contributing to its growing reputation as a hub for business and creativity.
ANA in the press statement, described Accra as a strategic gateway for strengthening Pan-African media collaboration and enhancing connectivity among stakeholders across Africa.
The statement said as part of activities marking the relocation, the agency will host the second edition of its annual forum, “Shaping the Future of African Media,” in Accra on April 29 and 30, 2026.
It said the two-day event is expected to convene media professionals, policymakers, entrepreneurs and thought leaders to deliberate on trends, innovation and the future direction of African media.
“The forum will provide space to reflect, debate and structure the future of African media. Africa is no longer just telling its present; it is shaping its future,” the release said.
Founded in 2015 by Ms Ben Mohamed, ANA provides real-time coverage of Africa’s economic, political and cultural developments.
The agency operates 11 offices across Africa and Europe, works with more than 40 correspondents on the continent and partners with over 100 media organisations.
It distributes multimedia content in French, English and Arabic to a global audience.
With over one million views across its platforms, ANA said it continued to expand its reach and influence across Africa and beyond.
The agency also publishes ANAKids – “The News by Kids, for Kids” – a platform dedicated to children and adolescents in more than 20 African languages, aimed at nurturing the next generation of African leaders.
The Accra headquarters is expected to serve as the central coordinating hub for ANA’s continental operations as it deepens engagement with institutions and stakeholders across Africa.
