Ghanaian sing-a-thon star Afua Asantewaa has confirmed that she is separated from her husband, Kofi Owusu Aduonum, while dismissing claims that their marriage has ended in divorce.
Speaking during a TikTok Live session, she clarified that she still wears her wedding ring despite relocating to Canada.
Addressing the issues in their relationship, Asantewaa criticised what she described as her partner’s silence during moments of public backlash. “My partner is a journalist with over 30 years of experience, yet he has never come out to defend me,” she said, noting that his public show of support was limited to her sing-a-thon attempt. “During sing-a-thon, he was able to stand in front of the camera and say he is proud of his wife,” she added.

She further revealed the emotional strain she has endured, citing a lack of personal support. “I don’t have anybody to talk to, but sometimes you just have to speak the truth,” she said.
