Hannah Asamoah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for the Agona East constituency, has confidently reassured that the defacement of her joint billboard with NPP Presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will not deter their electoral prospects in 2024.
This resilience in the face of challenges is a testament to the NPP’s unwavering commitment to its cause.
The incident, which occurred in Mankrong Junction and involved the removal of the billboard, led to the NPP’s unwavering determination to uphold justice. Legal action was taken against eight individuals, including the local Regent, Nana Ababio II. They appeared before the Agona Swedru Magistrate court and were granted bail on July 16, 2024, with conditions to reinstall the billboard.
Asamoah expressed confidence that the defacement, an alleged recurring issue influenced by supporters of the incumbent MP, will not impact the party’s chances. She emphasized that the elders who have acknowledged their error are unlikely to repeat such actions.
“The issues of billboard defacement have been a recurring problem for the sitting MP.
However, this time, we responded by taking legal action against those responsible,” Asamoah stated. She underscored dissatisfaction with the current MP’s performance in the constituency and urged voters to consider supporting the NPP in the upcoming elections, promising a brighter future for the Agona East constituency.
Asamoah’s remarks reflect the NPP’s ongoing efforts to maintain visibility and support in Agona East. They highlight the party’s stance against electoral disruptions and promote accountability among local leaders.
