Ghanaian radio presenter Nana Romeo has expressed sadness over the death of Akua Donkor, presidential candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party, emphasizing that her passing could have been prevented if an ICU had been available at Nsawam Government Hospital. News of Donkor’s death surfaced this morning, confirming that she passed away around 10 p.m. the previous night.
Akua Donkor, who was also the founder of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), was reportedly admitted to Nsawam Government Hospital with respiratory issues. Due to the lack of an ICU, she was referred to Ridge Hospital, where she eventually died.
Nana Romeo voiced his concerns: “If Nsawam Hospital had an ICU, Akua Donkor might still be with us. Imagine the distance from Nsawam to Ridge for a patient with breathing issues. The roads are under construction, slowing down the ambulance. Traffic is an added challenge, preventing the speed needed in an emergency like this.”
