2020 Election Campaign Manager of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professor Joshua Alabi has said both citizens and their Chiefs are now living in pain under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo – Addo’ government.
According to him, the citizenry has not seen what the NPP government promised them during the 2020 election with high expectations the Akufo-Addo led government was on the path of delivery.
“Expectations are very high”, he said.
“In our tour across the country, I see the pain in our Chiefs and the people. When you are a Chief, you need change; sometimes they drive from their cities and villages to Accra just to see President, ministers…just to lobby for projects from the government for their communities”, Prof. Joshua Alabi told TV XYZ in an interview monitored by MyNewsGH.com.
According to the former Rector of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA), he realized this situation during the thank-you tour the party’s leader Former President John Dramani Mahama embarked on recently.
He further revealed that the major cause of the pain from most Ghanaians is the issue of unemployment and abandoning of numerous projects initiated by Former President John Mahama.
Professor. Alabi in his argument cited the controversial debate between President Akufo Addo and the Paramount Chief of Aflao, Torgbui Adzonu-Gaga Amenya Fiti V saying he (the Chief) only acted in pain.
“During Mahama’s era, they had some of these projects because they needed them. Because the Chief feel that, his community need a school and got it during Mahama’s era, but when the government changed you stopped. It is a pain to the people. So you can see that from their faces. You could see the pain in the Paramount Chief of Aflao”, Mr. Aabi said.
What did Torgbui Adzonu-Gaga Amenya Fiti V say?
Torgbui Adzonu-Gaga Amenya Fiti V on Wednesday, October 20, gave the government a four-month ultimatum to finish the school project started by the NDC government.
What did President Akufo Addo say in his response?
Responding to Torgbui Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti on Peace FM in a one-on-one interview with Kwame Sefa Kayi, President Akufo-Addo dared the Paramount Chief to go ahead and “complete” the abandoned E-block if he cannot wait.
“Is he [Torgbui Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti] the one to give the minister ultimatum, then he should go ahead and complete the project,” President Akufo – Addo chided.
