Independent presidential candidate Alan Kyerematen has congratulated John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on their victory in Ghana’s 2024 General Elections.
In a statement, Mr. Kyerematen described the victory as “emphatic” and urged Ghanaians to accept the decision of the electorate once the Electoral Commission formally announces the results.
“Although the Electoral Commission is yet to formally declare the elections, it is very clear that the people of Ghana have spoken. I urge all Ghanaians to accept the decision of the Ghanaian electorate once the official results are released, in order to preserve the peace of our dear nation,” he said.
He also praised the conduct of all presidential and parliamentary candidates, highlighting their role in ensuring peaceful elections.
“This year’s General Elections will go down as one of the most peaceful in our nation’s history, thanks to the responsible conduct of the candidates,” he noted.
Mr. Kyerematen expressed sympathy to the family of an individual who reportedly lost their life during the elections and wished a speedy recovery to those who sustained injuries.
He concluded with a call for unity, emphasizing that the election should not be seen as a competition between winners and losers.
“Let us all remember that there are no winners or losers in this election. It is Ghana that has emerged victorious, through the mercy and grace of our Living God,” he stated.
The congratulatory message comes as the nation awaits the Electoral Commission’s official declaration of the results.
