
Defender Alexander Djiku has shared how grateful he is after playing a significant role as the Black Stars secured qualification to the FIFA World Cup in North America.The Spartak Moscow centre-back helped Ghana recover from the disappointment of missing the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to qualify for the World Cup, scoring two goals in the qualifying series, including the winner against main rivals Mali.He was also on target in the thumping victory over the Central African Republic before starring in the final game against Comoros.Ghana sealed their spot at the tournament by finishing top of Group I with 25 points from ten matches.”So proud and grateful. Ghana to the USA we move together,” an excited Djiku posted on social media.Ghana also became the fifth African country to qualify for the tournament joining Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria.The four-time African champions will find out their group opponents in the draw to be held in Washington, DC on December 5, 2025.
