Ghana defender Alidu Seidu has chalked a new milestone in his career in the French Ligue 1 after featuring in Stade Rennais’ game against RC Lens.The Black Stars right-back reached 100 appearances in Ligue 1 following Rennais’ defeat to title-chasers Lens at the weekend.Seidu replaced Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal after 30 minutes to mark his latest achievement, appearing in his 37th league game for the Red and Blacks.His previous 67 games in the league came during his time with Clermont Foot, who now play in Ligue 2 following their demotion in 2024.

Ligue 1 English (@Ligue1_ENG) February 7, 2026The Ghana international joined Rennais in January 2024 and was an instant hit in the second half of the 2023/14 campaign.However, he spent most of this season on the sidelines after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.He recently returned from the setback and has gradually been warming his way into the starting line up.Seidu could not celebrate his centenary of appearances after Rennais threw away an early lead to lose 3-1 at the Stade Bollaert Delellis.Esteban Lepaul had opened the scoring for the visitors but former Crystal Palace forward Odsonne Edouard levelled for Lens just before the break.Ruben Aguilar produced a moment of drama after netting after the break and getting sent off two minutes later.Allan Saint-Maxim, who returned to France after a shirt spell in Mexico, scored on his debut to seal victory for RC Lens.
