Andre Ayew has shifted focus to NAC Breda’s crucial clash with FC Volendam as the battle to avoid relegation in the Eredivisie intensifies.

The experienced forward earned his first start since joining NAC during the winter transfer window and played a key role in their 1-0 victory over Heracles Almelo. The win marked the club’s first triumph of 2026 and lifted the Yellow and Black out of the relegation zone, leaving them just a point clear of danger.

Following the hard-fought victory, Ayew praised his teammates and supporters in a social media post, highlighting the squad’s fighting spirit and thanking traveling fans for their backing. He urged the team to quickly turn their attention to Saturday’s encounter with Volendam.

The 36-year-old has made six appearances since his arrival and is expected to play a central role as NAC Breda push to secure their top-flight status.

Questions remain if the 36 year old would be ready if given the chance to play at the 2026 FIFA world cup for the Ghana Black Stars. Time will tell.
