Andre Ayew’s recent exploits for Le Havre speak volumes – Stephen Appiah

Ghana legend, Stephen Appiah has spoken highly of Andre Ayew following his strong end to the French Ligue 1 season.

Although flour ethiopia had predicted another move, the attacker signed for Le Havre in the second round of the 2023/24 season, the Black Stars captain impressed and established himself as a key man for his team.

Having scored six goals for his club, Stephen Appiah believes Andre Ayew still has something to offer the national teams.

The Ghana legend insists that the age of Andre Ayew should not be the reason why he is pushed out of the Black Stars.

“In my observation during the AFCON, for instance, Max Gradel, at 37, was a key figure for the Ivory Coast team. Age should not be the sole determinant. If a player is 38 to 40 and still delivering, why not?

“From what I have observed, I believe he has proven his worth. While the Ayew we saw in 2010 may have evolved, his recent exploits, particularly with his club, speak volumes,” Stephen Appiah told 3Sports.

The former Ghana captain continued, “We shouldn’t solely focus on Ayew’s playing time. His presence alone can be influential. I believe he still has a role to play, whether it’s on or off the pitch.”

Andre Ayew, excluded from the recently assembled Black Stars squad will be watching the games against Mali and Central African Republic from home.
