Management of AngloGold Ashanti, Obuasi Mine, has pledged the Mine’s full support for ongoing national efforts in response to the helicopter cash.
In a statement, the Chief Executive Officer of AngloGold Ashanti, Alberto Calderon, said the Mine is already actively working with authorities on the ground assisting in ongoing recovery operations, including providing logistical and technical support from the company’s Obuasi operations.
According to the CEO, the incident has affected the staff of the Mine and pledged also to offer whatever assistance within their means wherever required.
Mr. Calderon extended the deepest condolences of AngloGold Ashanti to the government, people of Ghana, Ghana Armed Forces and the bereaved families.
Some staff of the Obuasi Mine were seen providing operational support towards the recovery of remains of the victims of the crash on Wednesday when the incident was confirmed.
The catastrophic crash of the Ghana Armed Forces’ helicopter at about 10 am Wednesday 6th August, 2025 at Adanse Brofoyedru in the Adansi Akrofuom district of Ashanti resulted in the loss of the lives of all eight occupants in a range of mountains.
The disaster has since caused shock and disbelief among residents of the communities within the vicinity of the scene.
