
Antoine SemenyoBournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has described representing Ghana as one of the proudest achievements of his life, calling it both an honour and a dream fulfilled for him and his family.Semenyo, who was born in England to Ghanaian parents, said playing for the Black Stars carries deep personal meaning.Im representing my family and friends when playing for Ghana, he said. “For my family, its significant; my dad played in Ghana years ago.”His father, Larry Semenyo, grew up in Accra and featured for Okwawu United, where he played alongside Ghana legend Tony Yeboah.Recalling his first national call-up in May 2022, Semenyo revealed it was an emotional moment for his family.”My mum was crying on the phone. Dad doesnt really jump up too much, but he was so excited. Everyone was screaming when I told them,” he said.Semenyo expressed his excitement for major tournaments like the Africa Cup of Nations, saying, “Ive watched AFCON all my life with my parents, so to be involved is an honour. Its a massive deal, its like bragging rights in Africa.”Since making his debut in 2022, Semenyo has scored three goals in 31 appearances for Ghana.
