Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo delivered a masterclass performance on Monday night, guiding AFC Bournemouth to a convincing 3-1 win over Southampton at the Vitality Stadium.

Semenyo played a pivotal role, contributing to all three goals as Bournemouth secured maximum points.

The Cherries took the lead in the 17th minute when Evanilson slotted home after a quick free kick won by Semenyo, with Marcus Tavernier providing the assist. Bournemouth doubled their advantage 15 minutes later, as Dango Ouattara finished off a neat pass from Lewis Cook, with Semenyo again involved in the build-up.

Semenyo capped off his impressive display by scoring Bournemouth’s third goal in the 39th minute, assisted by Cook, giving the hosts a commanding 3-0 lead before halftime.

Southampton managed to pull one back early in the second half, with Taylor Harwood-Bellis heading in from a set piece in the 51st minute. However, despite the Saints’ increased possession (60%) and multiple substitutions, Bournemouth’s defense held firm to secure the win.

Semenyo’s goal, his third of the season, lifted them to 11th place in the league with eight points.

The Cherries will look to build on this momentum as they prepare to face Leicester City in their next fixture.
