Former President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, has called on all Presidential and Parliamentary candidates to approach the upcoming election as a game and not a war. He advised Ghanaians to act responsibly as Ghana prepares for the polls on Saturday, December 7.
He made the appeal at a meeting with the National Election Security Task Force, where Dr. Jonathan led the West African Elders Forum, a group of Former Presidents acting as mediators in regional conflicts.
This marks the second engagement between members of the West African Elders Forum and Officials of the National Election Task Force.
The Team mediates for peace within the Ecowas and Sub-Saharan Regions during election conflicts and assists in resolving them.
Former President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Jonathan said most election-related -violence occurs as a result of improper planning.
Dr Goodluck Jonathan urged the media to report on facts and not mislead the public to incite violence.
Dr Jonathan emphasized the importance of maintaining Ghana’s reputation for democratic stability, encouraging citizens to participate thoughtfully in the electoral process.
