Arsenal have reportedly ended their chase for Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey.
The Gunners have been contemplating on paying Partey’s €50million release clause, an amount Atletico Madrid demand before letting go the 27-year-old.
Partey, over the past weeks have been linked to the English Club with the player said to have expressed his willingness to join the Premiership side.
Latest reports from Spain indicate Arsenal are no more interested in signing the Ghana International having had all efforts turned down by the La Liga side.
Arsenal had initially offered a €27million plus player in an exchange for the Ghana star, a move which is said to have been rejected by Atletico Madrid.
Mikel Arteta has now decided to look at other options as his alternative signing thus summer with AS Roma’s Amadou Diawara most likely to move to the Club.
The English FA Cup Champions have already acquired former Chelsea star Willian, George Lewis from Fram Larvik, Huddersfield Town’s Tim Akinola, Salah-Eddine from Feyenoord, Jonathan Dinzeyi who also joined from Tottenham Hotspurs and further tied down Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares on permanent deals after loans spells with the Club.
