Arsenal new signing Thomas Partey has named ex-Ghana International Michael Essien as the best footballer of all-time.
Essien, who now working as a youth team Coach at Danish Club Nordjaelland was a household name in the game due to his exploits with the Ghana National team and Chelsea.
The former Chelsea star joined the Blues having immensely excelled at French Club Olympique Lyon.
Partey names the former Real Madrid star as his idol and also the best footballer of all-time.
“Michael Essien because he is one of the best player Ghana have ever had,” he said during a question and answer session with Arsenal TV.
“I will say Michael Essien because he is my hero and my idol.”
The ex-Ghana U20 player won the Ligue I player of the year, BBC African Footballer of the Year, Ghana Player of the Year as well as the Chelsea Player of the Year and also made the CAF Team of the Year of four occasions.
