The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asa Angel Enterprise, Aliu Sowah Annang, has described the company’s third-place win in the Youth Economic Forum (YEF) Entrepreneurship Challenge 2026 as a major milestone that validates its innovative approach to coconut processing and sustainability.

The recognition, he noted, positions the business for broader visibility and strategic partnerships within Ghana’s agribusiness ecosystem.
“Being in third position is a big deal for me and my team. It means we have been recognised for our innovative coconut products and sustainable business practice. This achievement can open new opportunities such as increasing visibility and potential partnerships,” he noted.
The company secured a GH¢20,000 support fund to accelerate its expansion agenda. According to Mr. Annang, the funds will be invested in completing an ongoing production facility and procuring heavy-duty equipment to scale operations.
“The GH¢20,000 support fund will go into our expansion plan.We are currently constructing a production facility, hence the funds will help us complete it and acquire heavy duty equipment,”he revealed.
Mr. Annang anticipates revenue will grow by 30–40 per cent within the next 6-12 months, driven by the recent investment and expansion plans.
Operating within Ghana’s food processing sector, the company is addressing a longstanding gap by producing organic coconut-based products while ensuring full utilization of the coconut fruit. This model promotes value addition and helps tackle inefficiencies in the country’s agro-processing industry.
He emphasised that quality, innovation and sustainability remain central to the company’s operations. Through natural processing methods, the enterprise preserves the nutritional value of its products while also minimising waste by transforming coconut by-products into items such as activated charcoal, coconut flour and shell-based artefacts.
He further noted that rising global demand for coconut and organic products presents significant growth opportunities for the business, particularly in export markets.
“The global demand for coconut and organic products is increasing because of its health benefits; therefore, Asa Angel Enterprise is positioned for mass market and export,” he mentioned.
Beyond profitability, Asa Angel Enterprise is advancing Ghana’s local production and import substitution agenda through multiple initiatives. The company sources coconuts from local farmers, thereby supporting domestic economic growth.
Its products, including coconut oil and coconut flour, serve as viable alternatives to imports, reducing reliance on foreign goods. By transforming coconuts into value-added products, the enterprise enhances the worth of local produce while creating jobs. Additionally, its export potential contributes to generating foreign exchange for the country.
Mr. Annang added that the company remains committed to driving community impact through sustainable practices, job creation and the promotion of healthy living, while the recent recognition serves as motivation to scale further.
“This recognition has motivated me to continue innovating, supporting the local community and promoting sustainability. I am more than confident in my ability to make a positive impact and inspire others to do the same,” he concluded.
