Recall that about 4 days ago, the father-in-law of Sammy Gyamfi, Chief Executive Officer of GOLDBOD, was confirmed dead after sustaining injuries s during an alleged armed robbery at his residence in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.
Reports indicated the incident occurred on Friday, February 13, when the victim was shot during a violent robbery. Despite intensive medical care, he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
The deceased, Mr Karikari, was the father of Irene Amankwaa Karikari, the wife of Sammy Gyamfi.
The couple married in a semi-private ceremony in Accra on December 21, 2022, attended by close family members and senior figures of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including President John Dramani Mahama.
Very little is publicly known about Mr Karikari, who is remembered by family and friends as a private and reserved individual.
Fast-forward to today, the three alleged assailants have been arrested and presented before the media. Their arrest followed after a series of coded investigations were conducted by the Ghana Police Service leading to their arrest.
