The Assemblies of God has given firm assurance to the President-elect, John Dramani Mahama that it will at all times stand firm with him in his quest to reset and lead Ghana as its next Head of State. As a member, the hierarchy of the Church led by its General Supt. Rev Stephen Yenusom Wengam paid a courtesy call on the newly elected president after he was declared by the Electoral Commission as the winner of Sunday’s Presidential election.

Joined by the incoming First Lady, Lordina Mahama, former Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, Senior Aid and Spokesperson, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Mr. Mahama expressed his sincere appreciation to the church for its continuous support and guidance in his entire political and family life. He also gave a firm assurance to the pastors to lead the country in all honesty and be truthful to Ghanaians, stressing he will seek the interest of the people at all times.
The General Superintendent Rev. Wengam prayed for the newly elected president, his spouse as well as his staff. He also offered him communion and presented him with a Bible to guide his decisions and other spiritual materials.
