Young forward Bassit Seidu scored all four goals to lead Accra Lions to a 4-2 victory over title contenders Medeama SC at the Accra Sports Stadium and put them back on track.

Accra Lions had failed to win their previous five matches, leaving them out of the top four for the past couple of weeks.

Seidu opened the scoring just nine minutes into the game before adding another in the 33rd minute.

The Yellow and Mauves responded positively after the break when their captain, Vincent Atingah, scored two goals from the spot in the 54th and 61st minutes, respectively. Atingah now has nine goals and is the only defender in the top five of the top scorer’s race.

Medeama, who had been poised to win before the game, were now hopeful of securing at least a point due to the pressure from the hosts who were more desperate to earn a win after a long wait.

However, the Lions’ determination paid off as Seidu scored two more in stoppage time to claim all three points.

The win has lifted Accra Lions back into the top four. They now await results from eight more matchday 27 fixtures which continue on Saturday and Sunday at the various league centres.
