Bawku Naba Pledges Support for Mahama, Cites Developmental Contributions

The President of the Kusaug Traditional Area, Bawku Naba Zug-Raan Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, has assured John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), that the people of Kusaug will recognize and reward his significant contributions to Ghana’s development.

 

In a speech on his behalf, the Bawku Naba praised Mahama for his generosity and forward-thinking leadership. He highlighted the impactful developmental projects initiated under Mahama’s leadership, which have left a lasting impression on the Kusaug region.

 

“The numerous developmental projects initiated by the NDC under your leadership have significantly impacted Kusaug.

 

I am confident that the people of Kusaug will show their appreciation for your vision and contributions to our nation’s progress,” the Bawku Naba said.

 

The Kusaug area includes the constituencies of Zebilla, Binduri, Bawku, Pusiga, Garu, and Tempane.

 

During Mahama’s recent visit to the region, Bawku Naba expressed gratitude for his second visit within a short period, noting it as a testament to Mahama’s humility and dedication to the people of Kusaug.

 

“I warmly welcome you and your entourage to Kusaug. Feel at home as you campaign and seek the support and votes for the December 7, 2024, elections,” Bawku Naba said.

 

The traditional leader also made specific requests for further development should Mahama be re-elected.

 

He called for prioritizing infrastructure projects, including constructing a Government Hospital as a major referral centre.

 

Additionally, he advocated for elevating the Savanna Agriculture Research Center to a university to boost agricultural research and ensure national food security.

 

Bawku Naba also proposed upgrading the Kusaug area to regional status, which he believes would bring governance closer to the people. He concluded a more equitable distribution of resources.

 

“This change would ensure that all residents of Kusaug benefit more dir.” nal resources and governance,” he concluded.
