Renowned Islamic Cleric and scholar, Sheikh Ishaq Nuamah says the Vice President and NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has unquestionably character traits which are essential for the next leadership of Ghana.

Addressing some young people at a public lecture and review of the book “Dr. Bawunia and the Modern Vice Presidency” authored by Prof. Etse Sikanku, Sheikh Nuamah commended Dr. Bawumia for his remarkable political journey, stressing he is on the cusp of the Presidency.

He noted that Bawumia’s good character traits have earned him huge support across the nation, even from the Christian fraternity although he is a Muslim.

“Dr. Bawumia has never been corrupt and he has never been a womaniser. He has a good character. Even his opponents know that.”

“Christians are rooting for him because of his character. They tell me ‘as for that man he is very humble’. Yes he is very very humble.”

“He is also very tolerant. You can insult him from morning to evening and he won’t mind you. Kindness is also one of his traits and it is character trait that when you have, it draws people closer”, Sheikh Nuamah told the largely Muslim youth audience.

Sheikh Nuamah also hailed Dr. Bawumia saying people who work with him can attest to his hard work and competence.

“He is also hardworking and result oriented. Those who are working at close range with him know that he is result oriented…And he is a unifier.”

“If you watch the campaigns in all the Regions, how many are Muslims? How many Muslims are in this country? But when you look at the audience following him, very huge. Chiefs and pastors who are non-Muslims are rooting for him”, Sheikh Nuamah added and urged the Zongo community to join forces with the rest of the country and rally behind Dr. Bawumia to win the December polls stating emphatically he can be trusted.
