Ghanaian midfielder Benjamin Afutu who has left giants Hearts of Oak is heading to Azerbaijan to commit to a contract with a club he signed a pre-contract agreement with, according to Kumasi-based Pure FM.
The 25-year-old turned down three separate offers from the Phobians who were eager to register him for their CAF Champions League campaign.
According to Kumasi-based radio station Pure FM the midfield dynamo had initially agreed to join the unnamed club during the winter transfer window.
He returned to Ghana after agreeing the deal and continued to finish the season for the Phobians as he netted 5 league goals in 29 games.
