Ghanaian football star Thomas Partey has revealed that he once considered a career in painting alongside football. The 32-year-old midfielder shared this interesting insight during an interview with Kafui Dey, explaining that his childhood interests extended beyond sports. Painting and drawing were among the options he contemplated, but his first experience with art left him unimpressed, leading him to abandon that path early on.

During the interview, Partey recounted a memorable moment from his school days when his father took him to a painting shop. Despite the initial excitement, the experience did not resonate with him. “I went only once. It was boring. It’s not like football because my friends are going somewhere to play and enjoy themselves, and I was just sitting in the painting room,” he explained.

Despite his brief flirtation with painting, Partey affirmed that he still has a passion for art in a unique way. He humorously noted that if he couldn’t paint with his hand, he’d be able to do so with his feet, an allusion to his football skills. “By the grace of God, I’ll be able to play. People see the talent, so I have to just continue and chase it,” he added.

Partey’s story highlights the multifaceted nature of his talents and interests. Although his focus is currently on football, his childhood fascination with art remains a part of his life philosophy. His willingness to pursue his passion for football despite early distractions shows his dedication and resilience in the face of alternative career paths.
