Players of Ghana’s senior women’s national team, the Black Queens, are set to receive a GH₵20,000 locker room bonus from sports betting company BETPAWA for every victory recorded at the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The initiative forms part of BETPAWA’s support package aimed at motivating the team ahead of the continental tournament. The bonus scheme is expected to boost morale within the squad as the Black Queens prepare to compete against some of Africa’s top women’s football nations.

Under the arrangement, the financial reward will be paid directly to the players after each win during the competition. BETPAWA’s backing adds to growing corporate support for women’s football in Ghana as the Black Queens target a strong campaign at the tournament.

The Black Queens are hoping to make a major impact at WAFCON and improve on their previous performances on the continental stage after years of rebuilding the national team.
