Binduri: Police launch manhunt for armed robbers who shot two officers dead in Upper East Region

The Ghana Police Service has initiated a full-scale manhunt to apprehend armed robbers responsible for killing two police officers in Poyamirea, near Binduri in the Upper East Region, on Saturday, April 13, 2025.

Preliminary investigations reveal the officers, dressed in plain clothes, were traveling on a private motorbike from Bongo to Binduri when they were ambushed and fatally shot. Their motorbike was stolen during the attack.  

The identities of the deceased officers remain undisclosed as authorities work to formally notify their families in accordance with customary protocols.

In a statement, the Police Administration expressed profound condolences to the bereaved families, the regional commander, and personnel, vowing to ensure the perpetrators face justice.

“We assure the public that those behind this heinous crime will be arrested,” the statement emphasized, underscoring intensified efforts to track down the assailants.
