Ghana women’s national football team head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has named his squad for the upcoming Pink Ladies Cup in the United Arab Emirates, handing six players their maiden senior national team call-ups.
The new faces in the squad include Turkey-based goalkeeper Rose Baah of Giresun Sanayispor, Ampem Darkoa Ladies duo Diana Amoako and Ajegipina Zakaria, as well as Alexander Emefa Tay, Sharon Sampson and Helen Alormenu.
Baah has been in impressive form for her club this season, earning recognition for her consistency between the posts. Amoako, who recently featured for the Black Princesses during their FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against South Africa, has also been a key figure in Ampem Darkoa’s defence.
Ghana have been drawn in a challenging group alongside Hong Kong, Russia and Tanzania for the four-nation tournament, which kicks off on February 28 in the UAE.
The competition is expected to provide vital preparation for the Black Queens ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next month, as the team steps up its build-up towards continental competition.
