The Black Princesses are gearing up to face New Zealand in their final Group E match at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia. Ghana have already suffered losses against Austria and Japan, making their chances of advancing to the next round quite slim. However, head coach, Yussif Basigi, remains optimistic about securing a win against New Zealand, which would be a historic first time for the team if they advance past the group stage.
“We are left with our last match in the group stage and we are hoping to do well. As at now we have only one major injury concern, and that has been ruled out of the game but for the rest, they are ready’’ Basigi said.
‘’Training has been good with the hope of playing very well to win our last game. Both Ghana and New Zealand will like to finish the group stage with a good result and because of that it is going to be a very tough match’’.
‘’I think the girls are well psyched up to go all out so we can amass the maximum three points.”Basigi added.
Ghana will play their last Group E match against New Zealand on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the Pascual Guerrero stadium, Cali at 23:00GMT.
