Ghana Women’s National Team, the Black Queens, has taken a significant step towards the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations by unveiling a 24-player provisional squad. Coach Kim Lars Björkegren announced this final camp squad as part of preparations for the tournament scheduled to be hosted in Morocco. The team is eager to secure a strong performance in the upcoming continental competition, which promises to be highly competitive.

Among the notable players included in the provisional squad are Princella Adubea, Doris Boaduwaa, Evelyn Badu, Grace Asantewaa, Anasthesia Achiaa, and Portia Boakye. These players have been key figures for Ghana in previous tournaments and are expected to bring experience, skills, and leadership to the team’s final preparations.

The squad also features four players from the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, highlighting the league’s growing influence on the national team. Comfort Yeboah and Nancy Amoh from Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Afi Amenyeku from Northern Ladies, and Kerrie McCarthy of Kumasi Academy have all earned spots, demonstrating the talent emerging from Ghana’s domestic leagues.

Ghana has been drawn into Group B alongside South Africa, Tanzania, and Mali for the tournament. The Black Queens will face tough competition from these teams, but the squad’s depth and talent give hope for a strong showing. The Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is set to take place from July 5 to July 26, 2025, with Ghana aiming to advance beyond previous performances and contend for the title on home soil.
