The Black Starlets, Ghana’s U-17 national team, are gearing up for the second phase of their screening exercise, as they search for talented young players to strengthen their squad. Players from the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Northern, Upper West, and Upper East Regions have been invited to camp in Kumasi for a three-day training session. This move is part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming 2025/26 WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations and the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
The screening exercise, which is being held at the Christian Village Guest House & Leadership Training Centre in Kumasi, will feature two batches of players. The first batch of 44 players arrived on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, while the second batch will report on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Coach Frimpong Manso and his team are tasked with identifying the most talented young players to form the next Black Starlets squad.
Coach Frimpong Manso’s vision for the Black Starlets is to excel in the upcoming tournaments and bring glory to Ghana. To achieve this, he is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for talent. The coach believes that the screening exercise will provide an opportunity for young players to showcase their skills and potentially secure a spot in the team.
The second phase of the screening exercise offers selected players another chance to shine and demonstrate their abilities. The players will undergo rigorous training and assessment, and those who impress the coaches will be given the opportunity to join the team. This is a great opportunity for young players to showcase their talent and potentially become part of the Black Starlets squad.
