Ghana’s national U-17 team, the Black Starlets, will intensify preparations for the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations with two friendly matches on Wednesday morning at the Accra Sports Stadium

The double-header, scheduled between 8:00am and 12:00 noon, will see the Starlets engage Division One League sides Port City FC and Koforidua Semper Fi as part of efforts to fine-tune tactics and assess squad depth ahead of the April tournament.

Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum and his technical team are expected to rotate players across both games to evaluate form, fitness and tactical flexibility under competitive conditions. The exercise forms part of a structured build-up programme that has gradually shifted from basic conditioning to match realism and psychological readiness.

The Starlets approach the friendlies on the back of positive warm-up results, having edged Na God FC 3-2 before recording a 4-3 victory over True Democracy FC. While the performances underlined the team’s attacking potential, minor defensive lapses were also noted.

Wednesday’s matches are expected to provide one of the final assessment platforms before the squad is trimmed for the continental assignment.
