The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has announced a proposed budget of GHS 146,268,659.80 for the Black Stars’ participation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup

The allocation, equivalent to just under $14 million, is intended to cover all aspects of Ghana’s campaign, including training camps, logistics, player bonuses, technical staff remuneration and other tournament-related expenses. The Ministry noted that the figure represents a full-competition projection, assuming the Black Stars progress through every stage of the tournament.

Further details outlining expenditure breakdowns and funding arrangements are expected to be released as preparations gather pace.

As part of their build-up, Ghana will take advantage of the March international window with friendly matches against Germany and Austria, before facing Mexico in May.

Drawn in Group L, the Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17, meet England on June 23 and conclude the group stage against Croatia on June 27. The tournament will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
