French Ligue 1 club FC Nantes have announced the signing Black Stars winger Osman Bukari from Belgium club KAA Gent.

The 22-year-old former Accra Lions star joins on a season-long loan without an obligation to buy, the club has confirmed.

“FC Nantes and KAA Gent have reached an agreement for the loan – without an option to buy – of winger Osman Bukari, until the end of the 2021-2022 season.”

Osman Bukari started his professional career with newly-promoted Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions and joined Anderlecht on a six-month loan in 2018.

At the end of his first stint in Belgium, the winger signed for Slovakian side AC Trencin, playing 66 matches in all competitions, scoring 16 goals and 25 assists before joining Gent last year September.

He netted 4 times and provided 6 assists in 25 games of the regular season.

“Fast player, lively on his supports and loving to project himself towards the opposing goal, Osman Bukari (1m70) will bring all his percussion and technical quality to the Nantes offensive for the coming season,” the club concluded.

Bukari has featured 2-times for the Black Stars in Ghana’s last two 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome, making his debut against the former.

He has also featured for the Black Meteors in their friendlies against Japan and South Korea earlier this year.
