The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced that the preliminary round draw for the 2025/26 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup will be held on August 12, 2025, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The eagerly awaited draw will set the stage for the first matches of Africa’s premier club competitions, bringing together top teams from across the continent.
Following the draw, the first-leg matches for both competitions are scheduled to take place between August 15 and 18, 2025. Return fixtures will follow shortly after, running from August 22 to 25. These fixtures mark the beginning of intense competition as clubs vie for the prestigious continental titles and the opportunity to showcase their talent on Africa’s biggest footballing stage.
Ghana will have a strong presence in both tournaments this year. Bibiani Gold Stars will represent the country in the CAF Champions League after clinching their first-ever Ghana Premier League title in a historic campaign. Their participation signals an exciting new chapter for the club as they take on some of the continent’s elite teams.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko, Ghana’s most successful club, will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup following their recent victory in the MTN FA Cup, securing their 10th title in the competition. The Porcupine Warriors will be determined to build on their domestic success and make a significant impact in the continental tournament.
