The National Identification Authority (NIA) is still perusing its activities to continue with the Ghana Card registration, despite the deadly Coronavirus scare, and the government of Ghana Ban on Public gatherings.
Ghana has so far recorded six cases of coronavirus, and Some of the NIA officers who had reached out to Ghananewss.com, has secretly expressed concern about the absence of protective measures taken by the institution.
According to them, they are currently in the Eastern part of Ghana, in which they say a single registration center is been visited by 200 to 300 people a day seeking the Ghana Card.
Although the Officers are advised to “keep a social distance of two metres when interacting with the general public” by the NIA, and has been given few sanitizers, gloves and other preventive gears for their work, they are still scared with the eminence of the Coronavirus in the Country.
The Ghana Card registration is currently ongoing in the Eastern Region, amid new directives on public gatherings to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus in Ghana.
