Residents of Chereponi constituency in the North East Region were left stunned and impressed by the determination and humility of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Thursday morning.
As part of his campaign, Dr. Bawumia was scheduled to engage with constituents early in the morning but a sudden downpour threatened his engagements as many expectant constituents had gathered.
However, rather than take cover or seek shelter from the comfort of his vehicle, Dr. Bawumia displayed remarkable zeal by going through the rains to engage the people.
The constituents were equally buoyant and hundreds of them joined Dr. Bawumia in the rains as he exchanged pleasantries with them at a durbar ground.
A number of the constituents, in both local and English dialects, were heard commending Dr. Bawumia for his humility to walk through the rains to greet them.
Later, Dr. Bawumia surprised many constituents by visiting their homes.
He exchanged pleasantries with the elderly and young.
Many, upon finding out the surprise house-to-house visits, could not even wait for Dr. Bawumia to visit them; rather, they trooped out in their numbers to watch as well as usher him into their house.
After his engagement in Chereponi constituency, Dr. Bawumia continued his engagements in Mion constituency.
