Renowned Nigerian journalist and publisher, Chief Dele Momodu, has revealed that he has never suffered from high blood pressure nor spent 24hours in a hospital before, attributing his good health to peace of mind and a positive approach to life.

Speaking during an interview with Ghanaian media personality, Bola Ray on Starr Chat on April 17, 2025, Momodu disclosed, “I have never slept in any hospital for 24 hours in my life. My doctor is Ghanaian, I won’t mention his name but if you ask him, he’ll tell you that one thing Chief does not and has never had is high blood pressure.”

The veteran journalist emphasised that his approach to life has been key to maintaining his health, stressing the importance of mental calm and perspective in the face of adversity.

“If I can’t fix it, I go to sleep. Peace of mind. What I can’t change, I can’t change,” he said.

Known for his decades of work in journalism and public relations, Chief Momodu also shared insights into how he handles criticism and public scrutiny, saying he views all press—good or bad—as an opportunity.

“All kinds of rubbish are said about me from time to time. But as a public relations man, I know every news is good news.

‘It’s how you manage it. When people are attacking you, it means you are doing something great. Nobody attacks a tree that has no fruit.”

The Ovation publisher concluded by encouraging people to live authentically, not for external validation.

“A lot of people live their lives for others—I don’t. I live my life for my faith, for my beliefs. I will never challenge yours.”
