Citi FM/Channel One TV crowned Tourism-Oriented Media at 2024 National Tourism Awards

Citi FM and Channel One TV have been honoured with the prestigious Tourism-Oriented Media of the Year award at the 2024 National Tourism Awards.

The annual National Tourism Awards, established in 1997 by the Ghana Tourism Authority, recognizes outstanding contributions to the tourism sector.

This year’s event, which took place at the Osu Castle Garden in Accra on Friday, October 25 and themed “Celebrating Innovation and Recognizing Excellence in Ghana’s Tourism Sector,” had over 30 awards including Competitive Awards,  Honorary Awards, and Special Mention Awards being presented.

Categories span across Accommodation facilities, Food and Beverage, Entertainment establishments, Travel Trade Services, Media, Events, and Corporate Organisations.

Among the various categories, Citi FM and Channel One TV emerged as the top choice for Tourism-Oriented Media.

The media house received a plaque and a citation which reads: “You Continue to make significant strides in promoting and developing tourism, You have diligently positioned yourself as the backbone of numerous tourism activities, exemplifying reliability, timeliness, professionalism, and trustworthiness

The Ghana Tourism Authority values and appreciates your contributions to the growth and promotion of Tourism. You have raised the bar in the tourism media landscape with your captivating content, creativity, and commitment to destination marketing

The award for 2024 Tourism-Oriented Media of the Year goes to CITI FM/CHANNEL ONE TV Ayekoo”

Some of the dignitaries who attended the event included the Minister for Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture, Mr Andrew Egyapa Mercer; Mark Okraku Mantey; the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyeman; and Shirley Ayorkor Botchway.

Contemporary Highlife musician, Kwabena Kwabena thrilled patrons with outstanding performance.
