The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has dismissed reports claiming it contributed 12 million to support the Black Stars, describing such claims as false, misleading, and without any factual basis.
The clarification comes after social media posts suggested that cocoa revenues had been used to sponsor the national football teaman assertion the board firmly rejects.
In its statement, COCOBOD reaffirmed its core mission of supporting cocoa farmers, highlighting its ongoing efforts to ensure timely payments, provide farming inputs, deliver extension services, and invest in the broader cocoa sector.
The board stressed that no funds earmarked for farmer payments have been redirected to the Black Stars.
COCOBOD urged the public to rely solely on its official channels for accurate information, reiterating that its priority remains the welfare of Ghanas cocoa farmers, who are central to the countrys cocoa industry.
