A U.S. judge has dismissed a $50 million copyright infringement lawsuit filed against rapper Cardi B over her 2024 track Enough (Miami).

U.S. District Judge Fernando Rodriguez ruled on March 30 to dismiss the case without prejudice after producers Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar claimed the song copied elements from their track Greasy Frybread.

The plaintiffs said they produced “Greasy Frybread” for rapper Sten Joddi and alleged Cardi had “unlawfully duplicated” the track when she released “Enough (Miami)” in March 2024, causing reputational harm. However, Cardi’s legal team argued the song cited in the complaint was not properly copyright-protected at the time the lawsuit was filed. The judge also rejected attempts to apply Texas law to the case.

In a statement following the ruling, Cardi’s attorney Lisa F. Moore said the team was “very pleased with today’s order.” Meanwhile, the plaintiffs’ lawyer Robert R. Flores noted the court did not rule on whether the music was actually used unlawfully and said the producers are considering refiling the case after later securing copyright registration for the song. The decision marks another legal win for Cardi, months after a Los Angeles jury cleared her of assault and battery claims filed by a former security guard.
