Court remands footballer, 3 others in police custody over killing of 2 policemen at Trasacco

The Achimota District Court has remanded four persons, including a football player, in police custody in relation to the killing of two off-duty police officers at Trasacco in Accra.

The suspects are a public servant, Mohammed Alhassan, 46; a firefighter, Ginkor Abdullah Alhassan, 54; a gardener, Alex Appoh, 36; a factory worker, Bright Nana Kwame Owusu, 27 and a football player named Ganiu Iddrisu, 25.

The court, presided over by Prince Osei Owusu, was informed that on the day of the incident, at about 6: 30pm, the accused persons conspired with others now at large and killed the Police officers.

They are Lance Corporal Tasigya Ngapun also known as Isaac and Constable Benjamin Tindumn.

The two were seated in front of their private residence near HAKSE Block Factory when they were attacked.

Meanwhile, the case is still under investigation and the accused are scheduled to reappear in court on May 20, 2024.
